Please read Chapter 1 first.
After the people stopped complaining for a while, they got loud again to express their dissatisfaction.
"They seem to be tired of how we have conducted things over the past twenty years. They haven't bee pointing their fingers of blame at us yet. What can we do next in order to make them pay attention to anyone else and not to us ?"
"We don't have many choices now but one thing; create an enemy outside the country. Well, we should have a secret scheme. Make terrorism happen. The terrorists should be guys who have been sent from a country that people don't know. The terrorists are made by the vicious country that is jealous of and stands against our country, so that we can run a campaign to get people together to beat the enemy. The people follow our leader who fights against the terrorists. Of course, it's us to hire the leader."
"I see. Which country should we choose to be the terrorists ?"
"In any case you had better have an enemy that is an oil‐producing country. Why don't you get plenty of resources from the country ?"
"Let's start a dramatic war. Our company is going to supply weapons for it. Needles to say, we are going to make a huge profit from the tax money in return."
"Well, who fight for the war ? I don't want our kids to go to the battlefield."
"Don't worry. Poor working class people are willing to go to the war. We have made a huge economic disparity between poor and rich just in case like this. They don't have money and cannot get enough education nor jobs. Only available jobs that they can find are the military services. Let them fight in the front line. "
"Oh, what a cunning man you are."
"I will feel sorry if they get injured or die."
"We have the media to praise them as heroes; really patriotic people. We should use this war to lift patriotism among the people. They should be honored like God. What you call the God of War.They should be really pleased with it because they have nothing else to be praised."
Then, terrorism happened and the war started. The Government and the media called for patriotism, and the people jumped on that bandwagon. Young working class people, who had no choice but served in the army because of poverty, were proud of themselves to be so patriotic to want to go to the war.
They struggled with the war, though. The opposing country was unexpectedly better at guerrilla warfare and long‐drawn‐outs even though they had better weapons. The nation had to deal with tight budgets because of the long-lasting war and got depressed more and more, which trigered to increase anti-war movements and frustration among people toward the Government. As a result, the rich who had controlled politics were about to deal with blame from the people.
A few years later, the rich held the fifth meeting to discuss how to cope with the situation.
